Fools | Parks
/The music video for "Fools" was produced using imagery from 35mm slides. Over the course of a year, exactly 13,334 slides were acquired through auctions on eBay. Many came from estate sales. The slides were scanned at an extremely high resolution and sorted by subject matter. They were then edited down to the several hundred that best reflected the themes expressed in the lyrics of the song. The result is a sneak peak into past lives—candid portraits of complete strangers that somehow feel intimate. As the photos of architecture, ephemera, and americana flash by, a nostalgic view of innocence and expectation comes into the focus. The viewer is left filling in the gaps, wondering where these characters are now.
